MARCUS LUER is the Group CEO of the TSA GROUP, Asia’s leading global sports marketing agency which he founded 20 years ago in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. He is also the Co-Founder of GLORY Sports International (GSI), the #1 Kickboxing League in the world. Most recently Marcus founded Branded Real Estate (BRE).
Marcus is a thought after sports industry and branding expert, consulting to both Rights Holders and multinational corporations and has been featured on CNBC, BBC News, Bloomberg Asia and international newspapers and a variety of magazines as well as has spoken at international conferences around the world.
Sports Business International (SBI) magazine voted him into the “SBI 200 Team” in 2014, comprising of the most influential leaders in the industry over the past 18 years (he was one of only two Asian Agency heads on the list).
Living and working in Asia for the past 20 years, Marcus combines his cross cultural background with his practical hands-on experience to further develop the Asian and global sports marketing industry.
At the end of 1997, Marcus founded Total Sports Asia which is now called TSA. Marcus’ drive and leadership has guided the company to what it is today, Asia’s global leader in sports content and branding solutions. TSA has over 50 dedicated sports marketing professionals which operate across its offices in the region.
TSA represents and has worked with major global sports brands from Premier League Football Clubs, Formula One teams and a host of Olympic sports Federations (BWF, ITTF, AIBA, IAAF, FINA, UCI, etc). TSA partnered with the SPARTAN RACE series in 2015 and is jointly developing new events in Asia.
TSA also recently was appointed as Commercial Partnership Consultant to the new KL Sports City project. This represents a mega project in Malaysia.
TSA’s role is to develop new commercial opportunities and build larger platforms for these events and brands in the region or worldwide. TSA’s clients range from broadcasters worldwide, Asian multinationals to global corporations seeking to maximize the power of sports for their own brand benefit.
TSA’s full range of services includes media rights distribution, TV production, sponsorship, events management and consulting. Its mission is to enrich people’s lives through sports & entertainment.
Marcus has a hands-on role across the key properties and projects TSA is involved in and as a recognized industry pioneer is constantly engaged in shaping the future of sports marketing in Asia.
In early 2012, Marcus teamed up with a group of blue chip investors and Fight Sports industry experts to launch GLORY, the premier kickboxing League in the world. Marcus taps into his 20 years of experience across the global sports marketing world and brings the core skills of TSA into the new venture. GLORY has produced nearly 30 events since its inception in major cities around the world from London, New York to Tokyo and will continue to expand its reach with more events in 2016 and beyond and across media platforms worldwide.
In 2015 Marcus, established a separate Branded Real Estate (BRE) arm within the TSA Group. Over the past 8 years TSA has developed a very unique set of skills which matches the power of Superbrands with Residential Real Estate projects in the region. From the Michael Schumacher World Tower to two Armani Residences in India and China, the TSA BRE Division has developed projects with a combined GDV value of over US$ 1 billion and is the leading agency globally in this space.
Marcus is not just an avid sports fan but also gets into the action. You will see him regularly participate in Triathlons or Spartan races across the region. He is also a member of YPO’s (Young Presidents Organization) Malaysian Chapter.
